Quick Reference guide - how to share an Image or PDF file during your Video Call on a mobile device

Video Call consultation screen

During a Video Call on your mobile device, click on the + sign at the top right of the call screen, to access Apps & Tools and share a resource into the call.

Click on Share an Image or PDF in the available options. Then choose either Photo Library, Take Photo or Choose File, depending on the image or file you would like to share into the call.

Photo library will allow you to share any photo in your saved photos. You can also choose to Take a Photo during the call, which you can then share directly into the call. Or you can navigate to and choose a File, if required.

In this example we have selected Photo Library. The library opens and you can select the required photo.

The selected photo will share into the call (left image). To make the resource easy to view, it will show full screen.

You or the doctor can use the resource toolbar (highlighted) to annotate over the shared resource, if required. For example, to highlight an area of an image (shown in right image).

This image shows annotations that have been added to the resource.

Toggle between the call screen showing the participants (eg the health service provider and yourself) and the screen showing the shared resource, using the two arrows at the bottom right of the screen, above the control buttons.

Use the download button

in the resource toolbar to download a resource shared with you before the call ends, if required. Resources with annotations can be downloaded as the original file or with the annotations.

Please note: Once the call ends shared resources will no longer be available to download as Video Call does not store these.
