Tabbing between the call screen and waiting area

How to join a call and navigate between the call screen and waiting area


When a call is joined, the call screen opens in a new window or a new tab in your browser, depending on the configuration option set by your clinic administrator. In both of these scenarios, once the call screen opens you can navigate back to the waiting area, if needed, for example to add another participant to your call or check participant information.

Calls open by default in a new window and administrators can enable the option for calls to open in a new tab by going to Configure > Joining a Call and enabling the toggle switch.

New Window (default)

When the call screen opens in a new browser window, it may sit over the waiting area tab. You can drag the call screen window to another screen or move it so that you can see both and you can Alt-Tab on your keyboard to switch between them. This keyboard shortcut makes it easy to navigate between the call screen and the waiting area.

New Tab

When the call screen opens in a new tab, you can see the tabs at the top of your browser and can simply click between them, as required. If you would like this option configured, please talk to your clinic administrator or telehealth manager.
