Quick start for health service providers

Steps to get you started using Video Call for consultations with patients


Welcome to healthdirect Video Call. Our service is designed specifically for health consultations and is simple and intuitive to use. The information in this NSW Health portal will assist you in becoming familiar with the service and the available clinical applications and tools, designed to enrich the video telehealth experience for health service providers and patients.

1. How do I get my account?

If you have not yet been added to a NSW Health clinic in the Video Call service, reach out to the telehealth contact for your organisation or LHD. Contact information can be found on this page. Once you have bee added as a team member in one or more clinics, sign in using your NSW Health email address and password to access your virtual clinic/s.

2. Video Call Training

healthdirect Video Call training is provided by the Video Call team. Visit this page to view and register for one of the available sessions. There are also links on the page for training pages aligning with your role in the Video Call service and videos to assist with familiarisation.

4. Using Video Call in an eligible private practice

NSW Health clinic(s) are funded by the NSW Department of Health and this funding does not cover any private practice you may also be working in. The Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing funds Video Call for use in General Practice, Allied Health and a limited number of private specialties. Please see the eligibility criteria and more information here.
